A Small Journal of Heroin Addiction is the autobiographical story of a man's descent and redemption, and how he later rescued a younger addict. Part prose, part poem, it is a literary tour-de-force reminiscent of the Beat Generation. It is, just as well, an update on heroin purgatory to which every new generation pays dues.
