Update - 1 July 2014—Signs & Portents. This is a completely rational, secular website. There is no intention of insulting anyone's ethnicity or religion around the world, nor to take sectarian sides. I just call it as I see it, in the time-honored principle that 'the truth will set us all free'. At this moment in history, the wheels are coming off a lot of wagons all at once. Underlying this is a global and not unexpected realignment of powers and interests. The focus of this website will remain on Flight MH370 (and the fictional Flight 777 in my novel), but none of this is happening in a vacuum. We must therefore consider the much larger global and historical picture—on which I will offer my thoughts in the coming days (stay tuned).

Coincidence is not supernatural but may have underlying significance—I suspect, if anything, in a kind of collective subconscious networked by instant communications and near-instant travel connections. Carl Jung, the famous Swiss psychoanalyst, called this general topic synchronicity, or 'meaningful coincidences'. Today, as the newly declared Islamic Caliphate attempts to overturn history in western Asia and establish its own new world order, a lot of meaningful-seeming coincidences are suddenly playing out.

These include the mysterious and unexplained disappearance of Flight MH370 from the heavily Muslim nation of Malaysia (where the government has just issued a legal decision that Christians may not use the imported term 'Allah' to refer to 'god'). The Muslim government's stated fear is that 'Muslims may become confused and convert away from Islam'. This highlights the uncompromising and feudal nature of Islam in nations where it is the official state religion, and underscores the fundamentalist mentality we (the West, the Free World once again) are up against.

Note: the Arabic word Allah stems from the same ancient Afro-Semitic root as the Hebrew El ('god') and means the same thing. To deny Christians or Jews the right to say this word is heavy-handed and ignorant at best.

In South Sudan, as we have recently seen, 'apostasy' (leaving Islam) warrants an official government death penalty. The young Christian woman Meriam (Ibrahim) Wani gave birth in prison while her ankles were chained together, as she awaited execution of her death sentence (stayed, at least for now, after a world outcry). We in the West cannot simply, blithely assume that Flight MH370 fell in the ocean. Related to this is the synchronous fact that the putative hijack occurred on the anniversary of Osama bin Laden's capture by U.S. Navy Seals in a military enclave in Pakistan, where no doubt sympathetic Pakistani generals and intelligence officials were hiding him.
